Real Housewives of Atlanta star, recording artist and songwriter Kandi Burruss is just weeks away from the launch of a new venture titled “A Mother’s Love,” her anticipated stage play.
Slated to debut in Atlanta during the weekend of November 22-24, the play will star talent including former Danity Kane member D. Woods, R&B singer Q. Parker (also of 112) and Eddie Levert.
“I’m so excited!!! My new stage play Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker Presents: A Mother’s Love is coming to The Rialto Theatre in Atlanta November 22-24, 2013. Everyone is going to be there so you should be also,” Kandi announced just hours ago.
Shirley Murdock, Chandra Currelley and Kandi, herself, also star in “A Mother’s Love.”
As previously reported (see video), the play has been in the works for a few months now. In between filming scenes for the sixth season of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” and other ventures, like Kandi Koated Nights, Kandi took time out to chat about the project, admitting that it is loosely based on her relationship with her mother, Joyce.
“I look up to people like Tyler Perry and everything that he’s done. As far as my career and my next steps, I just want to take it bigger and better,” Kandi told FOX 5 earlier this year. “It’s (the play) inspired by (my relationship with my mother). My relationship with my mother is, you know we’re very close, but when it comes to relationships and things, sometimes mothers, and not just my mother, have a problem letting go and letting their daughter make their own decisions. It kind of touches on that…”
Tickets for “A Mother’s Love” go on sale October 15 via KandiOnline and the official Rialto Theatre website.
